...I think even the EFI motor will be in self destruct mode unless tuned for speeds well below the point at which those tyres and bars will be required.

You dolt!  ;) Clip ons are important at speed, but more vital when stationary outside the chip shop... everyone knows that. I'm just sorry they have omitted the equally vital chequered flag tape around the fork legs.

Would the "Clip-ons outsde the chippy" be an attempt to meet ladies of a certain age? Given the age range involved I would suggest a cardigan with the slogan "I bought the complete works of Glen Miller and SAGA gave me free cruise tickets for life" crocheted in the back might be more effective and slightly cheaper. I would also refer the Gentleman to my rant on Triumphs!

 ;D ;D ;D

Arkwrights brush.

If you head over to the REOC etc. they will indeed tell you how to fit new rockers, bore it out to 565cc, fit a bigger carb, make the exhaust louder etc. The result will be a 40 HP output through a crank and bearings designed for 18 before the Indian metalurgists got to work reducing costs to meet Indian needs. So, open the whole lot, fit a new crank, better bearings, new oil lines and a cooler. Actually, save a bit of time, fit a Harley or Triumph motor. Then of course you'll find the forks flex and the head races don't want to play, so get the grinder and welding gear out. Except of course it's really a feather bed frame you want so why not just buy one. The wheels of course need matching to new tyres to gain brakes that go with the power and while you are at it you might was well paint the tank black and do a gold logo on it even it close up it says Harfield or Triton.

You are now light of many hours, many pounds, have a bike with insurance details that say 18 HP and a 40 HP motor and performance like a less reliable Thruxton or SRX. 18 HP Enfields are fun but there is IMHO no point treating them like mechano trying to get that Goldstar or Vellocette. Buy the real thing and live with classic needs, get the Enfield and enjoy the feel of real 1950's riding at 55 mph or get the modern copy and gain a mix of both worlds. If you want 180 mph get a Hayabusa.

Well that sounds right. I have already so many hard work to do on my SRX for circuits.

I don't understand this lack of power on a "modern" engine. Anyone can now produce a 40 hp engine, no ? Do they have special laws in India ?

No need or want a 180 mph bike, just a little bit of happiness when turning the gaz throttle (is the phrase correct ?).

Great looking bike, really like the seat and tank.  Don't see any reason they wont make it, but production version likely to be minus the ohlins and pretty mirrors.
