In sewer rants (again)
« on: July 28, 2017, 05:37:23 PM »
I know we've been over this before, but I got my renewal today from Bennets - £162

10 minutes with that bloody irritating Opera singer - £74 with Swinton!!

Why do they do it...same every year...renewal comes and it's double the previous year so every year without fail I swap insurers...what happened to rewarding customer loyalty? >:( >:( >:(

they do it because people dont bother to switch, even if folks get a cheaper quote and leave, its still worth their while to do it because they will both be picking up trade from other customers coming to them, and making money from those who cant be bothered switching.

I've stuck with Carole Nash for years as every other quote I get is about the same or much more, I have four bikes on the policy right now, about £130, the advantage of being a boring old so and so I guess, although my medical condition skews things a bit.

I actually got some money back from PJ when I sold the Sunbeam.....

They'll probably want it back again when the Arrow leaves in favour of a Norton single. But maybe then I can hold my head up high here again.

Im just waiting for my renewal (which is due anytime now).  The problem I normally have is that I have one modern bike (2014 Bonneville and usually one or more "classic"). Im with DA Devitts at the mo, last year they came up trumps with my renewal esp as I managed to add an SRX for the princely sum of £14 extra. CN gave me a sky high quote and Bennetts and a few others werent even interested.

To say it pees "everyone" off is probably the understatement of the year!

I await with baited breath  ;)

I had to switch insurers mid-way through the policy last year when I switched a bike,  as the Hastings Direct underwriters hadn't got the new bike (Tracer 700) on their database. So I ended up with Devitt. Didn't  get a penny back from Hastings, despite only using 7 months of their cover. Last year with Devitt was £189. This year is £252, including a £10 "renewal fee". WTF?

So I'm shopping around again, and who has the cheapest price? Hastings. At least they've heard of a Tracer 700 now!
