I have only managed one proper long ride on the 1953 J2 Royal Enfield, which I bought earlier in the year, and following this ride out, and break downs, I came home with a list of teething problems, to sort out. So today, I replaced the magneto cable, repaired the damaged handlebar throttle assy, washed out the tank with clean fuel, and stripped and cleaned out the carb. Oh yea, and rewired the birds nest that was the wiring, lurking around the battery area, and adjusted the front and rear brakes. Bike is now safely tucked away in the living room, for the winter
