Out for a canter on Sally today, afore the rain and then the ice returns over Hogmanay!

The centre of the roads are slick with rubber, oil, salt slime and a generous dose of farm vehicle effluent in 3 counties of Scotland, Angus, Perthshire and Fife. However, went out through the Ochils afore a refuel in Cupar and quick visit to St. Andrews west beach, a stop at the Tay Bridge kiosk for a black pudding roll & mustard, with a Bovril; over the bridge to Dundee, 30mph speed limit due to the force 6 - 7 wind, gusting gale 8, where the new Tate Modern is rising from the old swimming pool complex next door to the 'Discovery'. A canter along the byeways of the Ca rse (its that PC thing

) of Gowrie, afore a detour into the Sidlaw Hills and then home via another string of back-roads north and west of Perth. About 90 miles and only the white-finger to trouble me, temperature stayed above 12°C, so no need for the thermals etc. The wind is steadily rising, but nothing too dodgy, just watch out at gateways etc!
Got home and Sally was manky, so out with the Jizer, whilst everything was fresh, a quick scrub with the dish brush and then a hose down with the garden hose. The old bike looked quite the thing, so gave it a blow-dry with the leaf blower and left it running for a wee while afore putting in the workshop with a door open. Oil change now due, plus I may have to sort the oil leak from the cylinder head. We'll see.
Now as black as the Earl of Hell's waistcoat, but still warm. Good health to all for 2017 and keep doing what ever karma gives you a

!

Slainte, Bill
