Playing with luggage options on the NC. Helmet locker plus top box. Added some angle to carry stuff sacks but think I'm going to make a solo seat set up to allow use of throwovers without needing to take them off to fill up.

So, hard to believe, but until today, I had never fitted a bike tyre. And it all went swimmingly, easy peazy, lemon squeezy  ;)
While the wheel was off, I gave my back end a good wipe  :-\
Then I welded up the chain guard, which keeps trying to self district, due to the vibes on the RE.
What a great design the QD rear wheel is. The chain, sprocket, and brake drum stay in place, which saves all the usual a##### about  ;)

Ha, ha, ha.... you want to try fitting one to the cast wheel of an old BMW twin......Oh how we laughed .....that sort of manic frantic laugh of someone drowning in despair.........and cursed and bled........

Today, courtesy of moto63, I was able to set the front end up as standard. Haven't had a chance to take her out but seems like a good compromise between the upright bars it came with and the clubmans I tried. Thanks for the freebie clip-ons, Michael, you're a gent.

I think you'll find it much better. What did you do with the decompressor lever?

No room to mount the lever on the bars, or anywhere else, so I've tucked it out the way, but it will probably have to come off until I can have a look under the cover to see if any of the internal mechanism remains.

Might be worth contacting the seller to see if he still has the bits? At least you can use the electric boot in the meantime.

Think it was the owner before him who did the work, but I'll give it a go. Having the kick-start was a big reason for me to buy the XBR. Might have a scout about on eBay. Cheers, Steve.

Took the front "engine protector plate" to give it a coat of Hammerite Stonechip Shield to protect it as well as you can do. Burnt off the Japanese powder coating then gave it one coat of Zinc Galvanise spray. (in the airing cupboard now drying off overnight before I give the top coat of the above probably over the weekend)

Went out for a short 20 mile or so ride to photograph some poppy fields that are in full bloom at the mo. I don't think they will last too much longer especially with the cr@p weather we have had l lately. It just felt good to be out on 2 wheels today 😉😀

Had a 50 mile potter through Horncastle and around the edge of the Wolds then via some twisty little back roads back home. Good ride out!
