Nothing wrong with subtitles... They didn't stop me bawling my eyes out at Life is Beautiful (3 times Oscar winner after all).
And don't even start me on what Hollywood did to Nikita. In French a taut, dramatic, funny and moving thriller. In (US) English, another run of the mill sanitised piece of crap. After all the French version gave us our introduction to Jean Reno as 'The Cleaner'.
'Amelie' in English? can you imagine anything worse?
Talking of crying at films, I wasn't crying on Boxing day when I watched the bit in 'Senna' where he has just won his home GP, passed out in the car, endured agonising muscle spasms and then called his dad over to give him a hug, oh no, it was just something in my eye

Also got 'TT Closer to the Edge' for chrimbo (didn't everyone?) and enjoyed that enormously too.
