What a joke. I know it is a Becko and not a Hotpoint, but if it claims to be frost-free, then that is exactly what it should be. It's out of guarantee, but still less than 5 years old and this is a job that needs doing every 2 months or so. For info, the thermostat is set at position 3 out of 5 inside the fridge and the freezer itself has no thermostatic setting device.
The first warning you get are the pizzas don't feel quite as stiff as they should be when you take them out! Then you know it's that special time to remove all the contents, tilt the machine back by about 5 degrees, attach the bespoke half milk carton and hose to its underside drain pipe, and start the warm-water defrost after removing the internal backing cover. I think I have become a bit of an expert on this job as I can do it all in less than half an hour!
I suppose alternatively, I could save up lots of money and buy a Hotpoint.
