I'm planning to put Bridgestones on the Skorp when the time comes as they worked well on the Mastiff, what are the Avons like these days? Is the roadrider a "sport touring" type?
Aye Smudge,
Always used to have B45 on the BROS and SRX, but the mileage wasn't that hot. Went onto Metzelers and the mileage didn't improve and then we had the 'peeler'! A pair of Avon HM's went on the BROS and Kat has been very pleased with them and the mileage certainly improved. Put a RoadRider (RR) on the front and Kat finds it as good as the HM, so when the rear is replaced in about 500 miles it will be with a RR. Sally has a Metzeler on the front and a RR on the rear. After ~2000miles it is still looking good and gripping well, dry or wet.
BMW R80 Jim, whom you met, still prefers Cheng Shin when he can get them for there outstanding economy. He just copes with the occasional slide!

Fit what YOU have confidence in, 90% is probably in the head anyway when it comes to 'grip'. Rate of wear depends upon the depth of pocket!
Off to refit rebuilt forks in Sally, afore new sprockets and chain and washing out the calipers at both ends.
My regards, Bill.
P.S. made a 'Horlicks' of the quote unquote and proved to myself that my logic sucks!
