PS Hey Andy are you still running Gremicas on yours?
Yeah. And get this: (for those not in the know, the Grimeca caliper has a terrible reputation for being poor quality and with no feel)
Put Skorp back on the road about 2 weeks ago. front caliper was a bit sticky after lack of use. So I stripped it. The original pistons were a bit dirty (crudded up), but cleaned up ok. Local bike shop could only match the large seals, not the small ones. But they weren't too bad, so they went back in, with new pads.
The pistons were absolutely perfect. After 9,000 miles. And the pads gave me 9000 miles too. I'm ok with that! I reckon the brake isnt too bad (if its looked after...). I know some learned men have slated it. I stripped the brake, expecting to chuck it away and put a Brembo Gold on it, from an SZR or Aprilia. But that would not have been a good use of funds- its fine!
The clutch had just started to slip (when I put it off the road). I forgot about that, but was quickly reminded of it giving it reasonably big handfuls. But I got 9,000 miles from that too!
So I'm not grumbling too much.
cheers
