Indicator bulb compatibility

Does anyone know whether the standard XBR 21W indicator bulb is interchangeable with an R10 bulb. I found that the distance from the pins to the contacts on both bases is 7.5mm, but are the bases the same diameter?

Looked some more and found both are BA15S. Premature posting  :'(
