srx homemade exhaust questions

hi i came across this video on you tube in my quest to replace the exhaust on my srx400 with an alternative to going down the expensive predator route....was wondering if anyone has fitted a dunstalll or megaphone type exhaust on the srx and if so what are the pitfalls ....they tend to be smaller internal diameters so is it possible to use reducing rings.....would i need a link pipe? i have a y piece from a mini that fits the original downpipes.
many thanks and happy easter to all

I'm doing something similar, have sourced a y piece and link pipes from Demon Tweeks and adaptors from an exhaust parts manufacturer. When it all arrives, I'll post an update.

Yvan used a Honda CB500 Y piece. It works fine.

He wrote the two standards exhaust pipes went directly in the Y piece from the CB500 exhaust line.
He now has adapted a Supertrapp slip-on muffler at the end of a BSM exhaust system. I don't heard yet the noise it makes.

You can find this one in France :

. I've never seen it fixed on a SRX. But it looks good.

You are right. He needed a special pipe to fit perfectly the all things along the frame.
Concerning the Supertrapp, he "turned" a special piece in order to fix the muffler perfectly on the BSM special "expansion box"
You can see this piece on the second picture.
