Time will tell ...at least they won't be built in Thailand or Outer Mongolia! (So they say)

not sure its fair to compare them with norton. after all, the bsa guy has a track record of making stuff work. the norton guy only had a record of fleecing people and telling lies. tbh i dont care, its just a name on the side. the bottom line will be does thee bike appear and if so, does it work. after that it can say whatever they want on the side. its no more a bsa than my m21 is a fireblade. everything is made in the far east these days, theen imported in big lumps and assembled here. triumph, bmw, harley, all trading on theeir heritage in their homelands, but all importing their stuff from the far east and bolting it together. so really, who cares, bsa? electrolux? whatever. does it work?

Yes... sadly very, very true John. I believe triumph are taking the majority of their production over to Thailand.

Johnr, the point I was trying to make (obviously very badly!) was the comparison of an Indian person/company taking over another British name. I wasn't thinking of anyone who told a lot of lies and fleeced a lot of people, allegedly 🙄🤔

but if you wanted to offer an example of an indian taking over an iconic british motorcycling name, why norton? surely you could have said royal enfield?

And to add further fuel to the flames the BBC has this piece on the resurgence of the British motorcycle industry, funded by the Indians!
