Young lad at work has just got a new Lexmoto 125 for work, nice enough little bike .....but why have they fitted it  ( as standard ) with Bluetooth connectivity and an MP3 with speakers!!........I know I'm old and easily confused but am I missing something?

Ohh FFS I genuinely fear for the future of the human race. Vehicles that travel at any speed on public roads should not be fitted with any form of distraction.

Mind you anyone thick enough to be distracted whilst using a vehicle could just be adhering to Darwin's idea of survival of the fittest! (Yes I know there's more to it than that but for comedic effect.....).

I agree that having speakers fitted is daft. Won't be used by the yoof of today anyway - they'll use wireless earbuds!

Reminded me of a chap in our village with a step through moped in mid 70's who drilled a hole in his full face helmet chin guard so he could have a fag whilst on way to work. He would moan that his fag burned too quickly so would stop to light up another... really!

The real positive, I think, is that some youngsters still have/want/need a bike.

you mean it hasn't got a super bright LED cluster underneath the gearbox facing down on the road ??... i mean.... lets get the most important features on board before we start looking at rider safety......

Well last week when going to work on my RS250 I was following ,passed and then overtaken again by a fully loaded Goldwing playing music through its loudspeaker system which I could (almost) hear through my earplugs. Best thing was I caught him up when his bike was far too wide to filter through the backed up traffic on the M5.

I bet the rust beneath the glossy exterior is worse than many a car of a similar age. 

As for the noise pollution from these posers (Gold Wing, Harley and BMW bemoth cruiser owners) who believe that everybody wishes to listen to their 'music', as they dither down the road!    Move away from rant mode.

Bluetooth, plus MP3 and loud speakers on a 125 is just cras. Trying to get your act together as a newbie on a 125, with current road conditions requires all your faculties and then some. Aiding and abetting the distraction stakes .........    Move away from rant mode. AGAIN! 

Go canny, the sleet arrived today, with the snow down to 1,000.
