« on: September 12, 2019, 05:09:32 PM »
After looking at and almost buying a few Bullets/classic efi`s today i bit the bullet and ordered a new one !!   I won`t get it until end of the month, I have bought it from dealer in Dumfries.  (probably not the one in the picture, but it might be)

Congratulations spooky! You'll love it. It's like mine except for the colour.

Nice one Rufus, looks lovely. I want to change my zorst too, so I will be watching this thread to see what`s suggested. I do believe though, that Hitch ocks zorsts discolour quickly (no experience, just what I heard) I was talking to a visitor MGP week who had a nice sounding pipe on his. He got it from Fecked . com for £80.

Again, nice one Rufus  ;) ;)

No... it's not like yours, spookys is standard, there's nothing quite like "Norman " 😁😁😉

I didn't wait at all to hear the glorious tones of a de restricted silencer. I had the dealer fit it ready for collection. I made a nicer looking bracket once I had a spare hour or two. The one I have is the hitchcocks Goldie pattern. Sounds lovely and rich. I had the end battle out as soon as I got home. The bike runs great with lots of low down torque. There is an issue with regards to the chrome, which is turning kind of "milky". Can't always see it. Depend how the light catches it. But I can say that I'm very happy in terms of noise quality and general running.

I'd talk to hitchcocks about what else they recommend with the euro 4, unless you just take a punt on whatever you fancy.

I've modified the rear end, rotating the rear guard forwards and making a smaller seat mounted rear light. Also a homemade mount for a single bar end mirror and a home made mount for a hip flask chain oiler.

Issues so far have been binning a duff chain after only 1000 miles, a leaking and failed battery after 3000 miles and a faulty ferrule where the evap tube joins onto the injector body. All rectified myself.

Congrats and thanks for sharing the new bike excitement! I'll come right out of the closet and say it, "I love you, Norman"! ;D
Are these "proper" long stroke thumpers?

Ha ha. He is rather handsome.

Yes long stroke, low rpm  proper thumpers. Unique on the new bike market I imagine. I can't think of any other bike that you can buy new which will take you back in time to the degree this one does, offering the simple pleasures. Being so genuinely old fashioned comes with limitations, which you either embrace as part of the experience or not.
