Damn blast and bugger CG carb
« on: April 20, 2007, 10:15:55 PM »
Ok - I have not only managed to split an o ring but also loose a little bitty out of the CG carb - on the air screw.  Anyone got one in the parts bin?  OR suggestions where to start looking - thought - ahh ebay - but there are not many on there.  Also if I am to rise to the challenge I will need to be fitting some monster 48mm pumper dellorto or sommat so will not need it for long.

GC in another post you said there was a good breakers somewhere - cannot find the post and did not know where it wqas anyway - can you enlighten?

surely there's a bearing supply house in that benighted country! That's where you get bearings and seals, including O-rings of all sizes. They cost about 10p. Take your idle mixture screw in and they'll find one to fit.

Ahh it is not he little (5mm) o ring that is the prob - it is the other little bitty that is on the drawing but not in the carb that is the issue - if it is just a little collar I can spin one up - but I have no idea what it was and what dimensions it is - just that I felt something fall and cannot find it - not following my own advise I was pulling a carb apart on the saddle in a dusty and grit filled yard.

Try one of these Chinese bike importers, many of them use a copy of the CG engine and my mate bought a brand new carb for £25. Apparently the bike ran better after it was fitted than when it was new.
