Tiger Tank
« on: December 26, 2018, 08:37:32 AM »
My son bought me a Haynes manual for the Tiger Tank for Christmas, thus proving that children are worth having! One statistic that stood out was that for a Tiger to cover just 80km cross country it needed all of it's 534 litres of petrol tank capacity. Makes the mighty Enfield look miraculous!

What a fantastic present! And a perfect segway for Tank Fest 2019. 28th - 30 June. Bob, who was at the Red Lion last July has been bought a ticket by one of his daughters, so will be coming over from NI. I went a few years ago and it is a great weekend. Tickets are pricey but well worth it, so have a look on their web page. The museum itself is easily a full day in itself. Im not proposing a rally as such, but there is a great campsite a few miles away on the Isle of Purbeck called Tom's Farm. Which also happens to be close to one of the greatest pubs in England, the Square and Compass, at Worth Matravers.

If I arrive on the Jawa, will they let me in for free? After all it has several things in common with a tank - rate of acceleration, top speed and amount of metal used in it's construction for example....
