Crazy price! They come up cheaper than that (half the price).

I've got a couple here if you're interested.

Hi Onepot, this is very good news. Would you have a CDI unit that is specific to my 1989 F reg XBR (I don't know if the model changed over the years) ?

If so, how much would you want for it, do you have paypal for a swift transaction etc.

Thanks for coming back so promptly.

Hi again Onepot.

Ignore my last posting, I've decided to go with a new cdi unit to be completely on the safe side.

Thanks again for your offer of help.

Hi Mr Blower...

Why not borrow one off Onepot - for a couple of quid - and see, save 5the cost of a new one if yours is fine.

Thanks for the suggestion Rog. I've ordered up the new part as I need to be back on the road by the weekend. I realise I've gone for the least economic option but needs must and I was at least pleasantly surprised to find that I could get a new unit for under £100 (I was expecting a £200 price tag).

Thanks for all your help guys, my mechanic assures me that he can return the unit to Honda at no cost to me if it turns out that the old one is OK. I've had this ignition/tickover (electrics not fuel) problem which required a new pulser coil and at first appeared to need a rewired generator. Now it turns out that the generator is fine and everything points to a faulty cdi. I'll let you know the outcome.

I've recently returned to the T club and I really appreciate the help and general bon-homie of members on the site. This is a rare thing these days with user sites, you usually get at least one if not more t**ts coming on and spoiling it for everyone else. It's refreshing to see that it hasn't happened here.

Keep up the good work Mister Moderator.
