I don't believe it!
« on: May 28, 2018, 10:09:08 PM »
As part of a shake down for Sally pre-MoT and for my recuperation, I went for a canter tonight in the cool of the evening. Single track roads, no other vehicles, dense clouds of flies and a grand full moon rising over the paps of Fife, viewed from the southern Highland boundary fault, just grand.

Then the fun started! Sally decides to start spluttering and having fuel starvation 'moments', just what I needed, 10 miles from home. Managed to keep the engine going by opening the filler cap, whilst going along; the key is slack in the ignition switch!  ::)  And then I spies a badger louping up the road towards me at a rate of knots, just as the engine coughs. So, whilst coasting to a halt, the badger passes on my right, not 10' away, the bike is doin' about 10mph and WHAMMO!  :o  Another ruddy badger runs into the front wheel as he explodes from the verge on my left, shakes his head and gallops off down the road from where is mucker has just come from, whilst I do a large dab, with 'the leg' and manage to keep the whole plot upright and stopped. PHEW! Do you think someones trying to tell me something? ???

Not content with hitting a badger, or vice versa; on the second last corner afore home I arrived to find a 2" diameter branch lying across the road; luckily it was dead and shattered upon impact, but.....! Oh the joys of balancing on two wheels.  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Investigation of fuel starvation and a posting on Danxup's thread, so as to keep these rough running traits all in the same place, to follow.

Toodle pip, Bill

"...Do you think someones trying to tell me something? ???...."

Interesting. Bringing religion into it.  ???

Since you have, I'm an atheist so I'd have to answer "no".  ;D :)

Glad you "managed" the situation. Experience kicking in (pun)  8)

well Bill, on the one hand, great to see badgers, obviously intent on increasing the population and oblivious to a sodding great noisy bike!... doubly great that there is no badger cull north of the border (don't get me started on that one, I get homicidal tendencies when the subject comes up).
equally good that 'the leg' stood up to the rescue dab.....
Hope you get 'the gal Sally' sorted quickly ... looking forward to the report

Reminds me of the time I was on my Enfield Bill, and you overtook me on Sally, as I was going too fast, (I know! Dont Laugh!), for the road conditions up ahead. ie, a steep bend with a giant pot hole and gravel, which I of course had no idea about  ;)
