Fiddling with CG carb today - now revs wotsits off at a standstill - think I may have lost an o ring off the air screw - felt something fall but could not find it.  Oh well.  Still No1 looks the bizzz

Anyone know if the airscrew on a CG Kehein has an O ring?

Dunno about the airscrew but working on little thumpers appears to be the elixir of life... you're looking way younger than I imagined you in that pic :o

Aye Smudge - small thumpers and a pint of rampant bull jelly per day keeps me looking lithe and young..

I got a piston and rings for a CG somewhere in the shed, new, got it for one I had but never fitted it for some reason.

So Paul, is this in the way of counselling, talking about your fetish for CG pistons and rings, or is it by way of asking if I want them (how much?) or is it just one of those interesting senior moments when the opld duffer in the chair in the corner suddenly pipes up - "I walked out with a nurse once - lovely young lady - father had bunions" before shlurping tea from the saucer.  Confusing to all as they had been talking about Spain and the changes made since the death of Franco....

My apologies in my age induced fog I forgot to reread and forgot that I didn't make plain they're yours if you want them, trying to think of something else I've forgotten, but damned if I, I, I........ what was the question.

Hi Rog

I wonder if you could help me as you seen to be familiar with CG125s. Could you tell me the diameter of the kickstart shaft please? I stuck some wierd pipes on my CD175 and the original kickstart leaver wouldn't clear them. I heated it up and bent it, now it clears the pipe but it sticks out , looks stupid and gets in the way. I need one with the hingey bit on the shaft end of the lever like the CG instead of the foot end like the CD. I was wondering if a CG lever would fit the CD shaft. If its the same diameter, do you think the splines would be the same? Does this make sense?

Hi Dave Hi all

CG kickstart shaft is 16mm - on the parallel section behind the splines and the two I have are 15.7 and 15.9 on the splines.

Now as an aside and a high level of serendipity whilst fiddling about looking at this I thought - are these different from the Yam ones I have - and a TZR 250 kickstart lever fits really well on the CG shaft - so much so that the kick start now tucks away real neatly and does not scart the silencer on the way through.  This also suggests that RD500, RD250, 350, 350LC and 350YPVS amongst others will also fit.  Took CG lever back into shed and in passing offered it up to the TZRotax - and it does not hit the frame on its swing if I centre it on the kickstart splines - which are about 25mm so the CG will not fit, however if I turn the boss spindle of the Rotax one down a couple of mm the CG pedal will fit the boss, and the design of the CG pedal means it will work left handed if I carefully file the Rotax boss.  So your question may well have answered two of my problems - thanks.

Cheers Rog,
Thanks very much for that. I shall measure my shaft later (if you see what I mean!) and see if I can scrounge something to fit. Glad to know I could indirectly be of some help :)

Damn - on an even closer look it will not work - CG kick on the Rotax.  Oh well never mind the TZR one on the CG looks OK and does a better job.

Well, it pains me to say it but my shaft aint as thick as Rog's. Kickstart shaft on the CD is around 13.5mm on the splines. I shall keep hunting though, I've a feeling the H100 lever might be a possibility.

Ta very much.
