Haven't posted here for quite some time, though I lurk occasionally. Used to have a series of SRX's several years ago and just acquired another.
Which somebody then stole.
Thankfully they were idiots, after slashing the wiring loom in an attempt to hot wire it they abandoned it in my street.
Back now and heavily chained, but with a bundle of stripped wire to contend with.

Aye Julian, pleased to read that you are still "dropping by".    However, not so happy about your incident with delinquent imbeciles.   

I could rant and rave, but that wouldn't solve your problem and would do my blood pressure no good, maybe a cheap CCTV setup is required, as man-traps are now deemed "illegal"!

When I was into Cossacks, if you had a Dnepr MT9 all you had to do for anti theft was to set the manual advance lever to fully open when you parked up - if some numpty was stupid enough to try and kick start it the resulting kickback would leave them in a heap on the floor clutching their leg!

I used to think that with my first Norton single - a Model 18. Sadly, I discovered that either the local youths had learned about the long swinging kick from their dads, or had stronger ankles than I did.

Sorted now, no damage to the steering lock mechanism, though they sheared one of the puny bolts that holds it in place. Had to remove the remnants, cut a slot in the broken stud with a dremel and screwed it out. Dismantled the ignition, soldered in new wires to replace the stripped ones and joined to those to the existing loom, inside a bit of narrow inner tube.  Runs well though still need to do a brake service and oil change at its not been properly on the road for a couple of years.

All sounds like good progress Julian. All the best for the rest of the servicing and then getting it back on the road.
