Word of thanks to onthecheap
« on: January 23, 2017, 11:26:01 AM »
Very many thanks to John who sent me all the decompressor bits he took off his XBR to allow me to return my mine to the standard, automatic setup.

I'm looking forward to clearing the manual lever off my handlebar, plus I'm putting bar end mirrors on to clear the view.

SteveC#222 sent the manual + lots of useful articles on CD soon after I bought my bike.

Moto63 sent a set of original clip-ons when I was trying out different setups.

None of these gents charged a penny, I am amazed and obviously chuffed to bits.

This site and the people on it are proper gold dust!

And then sliding off the opposite end of the biking decency scale are bike jackers - never heard of them before this morning. Here was me thinking bike theft only happened when you parked your bike! Beware riding anything decent in, "The Big Smoke"!

Mmmm, I think the MZ stinkwheel would probably be immune then. Infact, I could probably leave it parked up with the key in the ignition.....

Yeah, I'd hate to have the worry of an expensive bike. It seems that this bike jacking has been inadvertently encouraged by police having a policy not to pursue the thieves in case they, or others, get injured.

Police? You mean the cameras don't have wheels that pop out, a hidden revolver and a recording of John Thaw?

We have a chunky lass who dresses like a scruffy traffic warden and cycles past the house twice a year.

Glad to be of help to someone. There are other bits of the engine that are being junked too but are a bit heavy - starter motor for example so these heavy items are on offer to anyone passing.
