Morning Tommy, don't av them on a "dommie" but had them on the last three speed triples I've owned without any problems whatsoever. I would highly recommend them, let's face it winters only round the corner eh... :( :( :(....cheers, Michael

Oh no, it must be nearly winter - the first heated grips thread!

(I may try them myself this year - I must be getting soft in my old age....)

Heated gloves are another option....

I always find heated grips make my palms uncomfortably hot leaving the backs of my hands cold. Guards as fitted to Triumph Tigers and the like help.

Heated grips are good.

Heated grips and handguards are better.

Heated grips, handguards and muffs are very heaven.

Hi Tommy. So last year, I fitted a set of DIY heated grips, onto my Honda CB500. They cost around a £5, and worked great, especially with muffs, as mentioned above. That bike is long sold now, but I ordered another three pairs of same grips, from China, for the grand total of £7.50. I fitted two pairs, one to the Dommie, the other to the Enfield. No joy, Nada! So I guess, its time to investigate, as the weather is turning  ;)

I think the key word I your last post Tim was "CHINA"......investigation over.. ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;).
The Oxford sets I had on my speedy's worked every time no problem and I had each pair (3 in total) on each bike for approximately three years.....cheers, Michael

I bought a 600 Faser a while ago (sold now) which had DIY heated grips fitted. I don`t usually ride in the winter months but the day I picked it up it was icey and snowy, they were a god-send and if I rode all year round they`d be certainly fitted ... they`re ace (imo)  ;)

have them on my Aprilia pegaso strada with hand guards as well work fine nice warm hands all year round came with the bike not wired into a switched supply that's my only complaint as they quickly flatten the battery  if you forget to turn off :D

ive got them on my beemer. they come as standard. when youve never had them you see them as a bit of a gimmick, when youve got them on a bike and get into using them, you realise that theyre essential and cant imagine not having them on a bike.

If you can afford it, a heated waistcoat may be the way to go - my Aerostich one going strong after ten years, one jacket does multiple bikes, and I think it's the cure for cold hands, combined with those long sports tops that go over yr wrists and have thumb loops (best one is Rab's Powerstretch half zip, amazing bit of kit, fits under other layers). Warm body means spare heat left over to go to hands.

Heated grips are nice, need hbar muffs to get the most from them IMHO.
