TT100 tyres
« on: September 22, 2016, 02:35:55 PM »
My ss350 has a pair of TT100`s on,  grip in the dry is excellent however i have had three slides from the rear * on damp surfaces, the front always feels fine, when i checked the dates on them i found front was 2014 rear 2013, ok happy enough with that, but the front is made in japan and the rear in Indonesia.. anyone else had problems  ?

* bike rear not mine ...

Aye spooky,

No sure about todays Dunlop TT100. However, I have a friend who uses Dunlop K82's on a 400cc Velo special to good effect and is delighted with their grip in all conditions. You should be aware that his rear tyre often only lasts for ~2,000 miles and that he 'counter steers' heavily and continuously! ;)

I don't know if K82's are made in the same places as the TT100's or from the same compound, only Dunlop can tell you that and I would send them an email or go to the 'Learn' link on this site and then to the fitment guide. I have attached the recomendations they have for Ducati 350 Vento from the same era as the Aermacchi, which isn't included on the list, but is similar in weight, performance and tyre sizes.

I hope this helps.

My regards, Bill

Thanks for the info, i emailed Dunlop and they told me the tyres made in Indonesia are not made by dunlop, a company called sumimoto (or something) have the rights to produce  tyres with Dunlop name/patterns .. make of that what you want   :-\

Re-cycled 'flip flops', maybe!  :-\

I think I would invest in some reputable tyres, but that's me and my halo often slips!  :-X

All the best, Bill

Yes a new rear tyre is on the cards, probably a decent Dunlop to compliment the front..
