No it's not!! ;D

( Actually on checking I'm not entirely sure it is IZH....but it's made in the ZID factory at Kovrov... it's so damn obscure even I'm not sure! :-\)

It's name means 'Sunrise' in Russian.

No, mine is the same colour and in similar condition except for the chromework which is a bit knackered ...they all did it.

Brilliant! I can't believe I didn't guess it, as Voschkod isn't that obscure, is it?

Not many around now. They didn't sell well as they were too big for learners and not really worth it if you passed your test. I think they look great in a classic sort of way. Like a lot of Soviet stuff I think they are well ( if crudely) engineered but badly put together. Plan is to strip it right down and re lube everything and replace all bearings etc, try and sort the brakes with new linings and playing with the brake mechanics and basically turn it into a reliable machine. It'll certainly baffle a few of the rivit counters at the local classic shows!

There is a guy over here, who rides a 1973 Aermachii as his everyday transport, to work etc. I've bumped into him a few times and had a good chat about the bike  :)
