IOM fatalities
« on: June 10, 2016, 10:34:22 PM »
Very upset to hear of another fatality at the TT.... Ian Bell, sidecar pilot, awful to think that his son was in the chair... thankfully uninjured..... and ITV4 showed an interview with them prior to the race..  all very sad.... my thoughts are with the family and friends of those who have lost their lives

Aye Steve,

I do agree and add my condolences to yours, to the families and friends.

BUT! It's that desire and ability to make the irrational, rational, that sets road racers apart from many other people. Their alternative view, helps widen mine.

Good health, Bill

Hey Bill, you have a good way with words and I couldn`t have put it better myself.

"Road" the movie, listening to Mickey D`s explanation of his feelings about road racing hits the nail on the head I think.

Yes Bill, well said, and I fervently hope that the 'do gooders' don't try and stop 'between the hedges' racing because it's 'so dangerous'...
it's the free spirits of this world who broaden our perspective.... and the outfit crews are true heroes in my eyes, developing their own machines, honing their skills at the hardest school in the world... and they'd NEVER want anything to be changed... hats off to them for brightening up my life (and many others) ...

Thank you Steve and Steve for the compliment, but as we agree, the compliment belongs to them who chase between the hedges.

Regards, Bill

My thoughts are with the families, its very sad.

I cannot help but think that death doing something you love has to be better than the relief of avoiding another round of bingo and "We'll meet again" in some nursing home. You can only hope everyone involved had the time to get their head round this and at least knew how the racers felt.

Those who want us all to die dribbling into our stewed mush are already gathering.
