Now that is a champion bodge! My mate showed me a GN400tt he'd bought to do up, in the back of his van today. I have never seen a bike in such a state, it looked like it had been dragged out of the sea  :-\ But he reckons he'll have it ready for visiting the MGP  ;)

I discovered that the MZ (two stroke) has a Bumblebee nest in its left hand handlebar muff.

Bit different.

Must of been mice in there afore as the female bumble seeks out old mice nests to use for her egg laying!  :)

Is it a "White arse, or a Red arse?" Damn PC spelling checker! "Bottom" is the missing word in colloquial parlance!  ;)

Clubman bars went on today.

From this;
To this;
With Michael's clip-ons;

Love the look and agressive position, but after only 60 miles, I'm feeling it in my lower back. I think I'll persevere a while yet to see if it gets any easier!

Aye mthee,

Footrests need to go back and up or else you WILL be seeing an osteopath!!!!!  :(

Having ridden Ducati singles with clip-ons and the 'standard' footrest position for many years, been there, had the bills!  ::)

Bike does look rather nice, that Honda 'Red candy flake' always did look good!  ;)

Looking really good! Bet you'll notice the difference when you take it for a spin, just need the seat sorting now and you'll have a cracker!

Thanks for the advice, Bill. How about using the pillion footrests - theyre back and up, or will I just look daft? Given the absence of rear sets and cash, I might try rolling the bars up and/or reversing them;

 My gut feeling is, having tried the position, nose over the front and finding it so focussed on going fast, I'm not that relaxed and "missing out" on the view. In view of that, Steve, I'll hang fire on the bump seat for now.

Classic "Form over function" problem as with lots of this stuff. The standard 'drop' handlebar to footrest relationship on the SRX was OK, but not relaxed if you wanted to "take in the view"! The rearsets (PC spell checker  >:( ) fitted to Sally definitely make riding much more comfortable, but "take in the view" riding is definitely a sit up and one handed or finger tip riding position. It would appear on the XBR that Jota bars and even a couple of inches back for the foot rests would make a big difference and allow some adjustment for your stature and the potential for the "Shortened petrol tank or extended girth"! syndrome.  ;)

A hump back seat would still be OK, providing the dense closed cell foam is used and not something that is soft and squidgy. The edges of the seat pan also need attention, as often the foam is cut "to fit" rather than overlap and thereby dig into the back of the thigh, rather than cushion against the thigh.

Main thing is to get the miles in and enjoy it!  ;D

My regards, Bill
