ok, its not really what you might consider as a thumper, as its only a 125. my mrs has been riding for years on a succession of scooters and honda step thrus 90 and 125cc, but she wants to do her bike test so she isnt tied to a cbt test every 2 years. so, even though the little honda 125 is a remarkable little machine, its lack of a clutch makes it unsuitable for her to learn on, so i started trawling the web for something more suitable and more like a real bike. by complete chance i came across a suzuki gs125. the bike was a 1995 model that the original owner had bought new and run for just 7 years doing just over 7000 miles, he then put it in storage and never rode it again, 2 years ago a guy from lincolnshire bought it and intending his son to want it set about putting it back on the rd, new tyres, brakes, chain and sprocket, cables brake pipes and caliper, as well as a starter motor and battery, mirrors, switchgear, even peg rubbers. it was a nice tidy bike with a very very low mileage. typically his son decided he didnt want no orrible two wheeler, chosing a nice little car instead. the guy put the bike on the website preloved and i think it was so cheap that people just didnt go for it thinking that it was just too good to be true. for a change, it wasnt. i got it for a snip at £350 and it sailed straight through the mot test. and so today, she has ridden it to work and the little honda is finally to be cast onto the web for sale. one more of us, one less of them!
so its not quite a thumper, although it does make a pleasant enough thumper sound.
