Air ambulance
« on: October 23, 2015, 10:34:54 AM »
Hi all, I was involved in quite a nasty "get off" approx 7 weeks ago in which I suffered two broken arms a broken foot and a bleed on the brain (I know, I know I did,nt realise there was one in there either) anyway the reason for the post is defo not for pity but hopefully to raise awareness for the NORTH WEST AIR AMBULANCE CHARITY who were the decent folk who got me to hospital in quick time, enabling the bleed on my brain to be addressed quickly. Anyway as the title says this is a CHARITY run organisation which relies solely on donations, so if your ever approached by some person waving a yellow plastic money box thing in your face please dig deep and throw a couple o quid in there. You never know one day YOU just may need them.  Cheers all Michael

Nightmare Michael, sounds bloody awful, I wish you a speedy recovery. On the island the air ambulance is a life saver and a very worth while charity, mainly TT and MGP times over here. In fact, at this year`s TT, sadly a private helicopter crashed just of the mountain which obviously closed the road. At the very same time my wife took bad and had to dial 999..... you`ve guessed it, air ambulance arrived and flew her to hospital. Can`t praise the air ambulance enough ........
Take care and lets hope you`re back on your soon. Steve  :)

we did an end to end run with the katana club in aid of the various air ambulances from across the uk, my contribution, or at least the contribution of the folk who sponsored me was just shy of 1500 quid. a very worthy cause for anyone in the 2 wheel world.

Brilliant stuff, the local junior school which my two children go to av just done a fund raiser in aid of the air ambulance, they managed to raise approx £250 which I agreed whatever figure they raised I,d match, so the total being £500, I also can,t praise this "service" enough. May I also just say many thanks for all the "get well" messages some of you av posted. I,m getting there all be it slowly

its worth mentioning that the NWAA have a weekly lottery draw that you can subscribe to, i pay a direct debit once a year and get entered into this draw every month. its a great cause to support and paying a small sum by direct debit means that you really dont miss it at all.
