Shepherds Rest Thumper gathering 2016
« on: October 19, 2015, 05:40:29 PM »
So, as per this year, I plan to organise another meet up at this great campsite/pub in the heart of the Sperrin Mountains in Co Londonderry in 2016. At the moment I plan to do the same again, and run it over the same weekend as the Cookstown 100 Road Races, which will probably be the third weekend in April, though dates aren't out yet . However, I am open to suggestions  ;)
Anyway, here's giving you all plenty of advance notice.

Book me in.

That will also coincide with my 60th birthday! :o
If I'm not working I'll be away on my bike camping!

The ABR crowd are OK. It just depends on how many will be going. Wouldn't be a problem with the two groups 'bonding' would it! :o

I've been to quite a few ABR meets and had a good time meeting new faces etc.

I'll have a look on the ABR site and get an idea of how many intend to go before anything else happens.

What's wrong with the old faces?

I will contact Colin at the Shepherds Rest over the weekend and get a contact for whoever arranged the ABR do. Then I will contact them to see if we they are happy for us all to pitch in together. I called in on their do earlier this year, and I reckon there were only ten to fifteen, so we could dovetail the whole lot for 2016. Plus I will be inviting the Irish RE crowd as they want to come north for a do  :)

Hi folks. I have contacted the Shepherds Rest, and the ABR are booked in for the end of May, so somebody has got their wires crossed. I can confirm now that the Thumper Club is booked in for Fri 29 April to Sun 1 May, which is the same weekend as the Cookstown 100 road races. So get your time off from the boss, and get your ferries booked. (for ferries use Nutt Travel, 02870351199 for the best deal)  ;)

So, folks, this do is def on. The ABR boyos may he there as well, the more the merrier  :) Also the DR forum are joining in courtesy of Dave  :) Also the RE crowd are coming as its in their magazine, though not an official REOC event  :) Also the MT riders will hopefully turn up, as a few came last year with Mark  :) And there is also a chance that the Irish Sidecar fraternity will be there, as they have to move their date from early April  :) Not forgetting the Mid Ulster Bikers /Guzzis  :)
I reckon we're all cut from the same cloth, so happy days  ;)
