..........Interesting to see how they "customize" their exhaust pipes ..............

But did you notice that the ones used on his twin engine set up were not the same, they had welds in them......also the Enfield sprockets he had machined???? ended up being Reynold duplex sprockets...and using a pin for the drive!!!! he would have been better off using the original items and getting splines milled onto the shaft.
Another thing while I'm at it....why refer to the engine as an cast iron engine, when it's only the barrel that's cast iron.
It's an interesting series though, if only to pick faults...
Dave.

Even as a non-engineer, I couldn't get my head round him using pins to fix the drive sprockets. I also thought when he took the shaft away, he was going to get splines cut. Also, as an ex fire officer, i'm well aware just how dangerous acetylene is, so thought their home production method was something else. I wonder how many serious accidents they have in that area of Delhi?  :-\
As a four speed enfield owner myself, I enjoyed the programme though.

And for those, like me, who can't watch it on television its on their website.

I rather enjoyed the watercooled Polish two stroke triple from the 1950s.

Hi Martyn, They say the devil is in the detail and that's where the program is, for me, let down.
Looking forward to next weeks episode....we could play...spot the errors  ::)

Hi

I saw the episode about the Polish two stroke car and had to remember that the needs of tv programme makers don't always include accuracy. They kept banging on about how the car's engine was famous for having only 7 moving parts, but by their formula any single cylinder two stroke only has 3 moving parts!

They also claimed to increase a 39bhp figure by 25bhp just by skimming the head and fitting twin carbs, which they appeared to buy with no internals. If that was all there was to gaining a 75% power increase we wouldn't need tuning shops.

So, utter bollocks but fun to watch anyway is my opinion.

Here, here. Well said smithy. I did,nt see the two stoke polish car program but did manage to tune into the twin Enfield engine dune buggy episode. Yes plenty of holes kud be picked but hey like smithy says this is TV and anything that just mite stir the soul of some young up n coming petrol head gets my vote. Oh and it was very entertaining. Only one thing missing. Guy Martin as presenter. Now that WUD be entertainment. Cheers. Michael
