Only use Avon 'RoadRiders' on the SRX600 and the Bros400, after various problems with German tyres and not wishing to pay the price for Bridgestone BT45's, good tyres, but peculiar wear patterns and wear quickly.
SRX600 front lasts 6K - 8K, rear lasts 5K - 6K, I don't scratch hard but use all the tyre, mainly un-classified, B and A cat roads, some motorway, but not high mileage.
Bros400 front lasts 12K - 14K, rear lasts 8K - 10K, "steady" with not a lot of leaning, hard braking or rapid acceleration, on the same roads as the SRX.
Both bikes are putting in 4K - 5K at least a year and the 'RoadRiders' have proved safe, comfortable and readily available.
Dave "Saw one recently on a ducati 250 race bike that had obviously been on track and rubber had bobbled up at the edges, just like sticky race rubber does." I suspect that's because it was a race compound tyre moulded in the 'RoadRider' mould. Here is the link:
