Alisons XBR 600
« on: June 15, 2015, 12:31:55 PM »
I've meant to post pics of this for ages. I cant claim any of the kudos, as I've only made minor cosmetic changes. I knew the donor bike, a low mileage blue XBR. Details of work done; XL600 barrel and piston, gas flowed head by a race bike tuner, open induction fuel system, hand made bespoke exhaust (sounds raucous!), carb set up to match, forks modified, gell battery under home made tailpiece with inboard rear indicators, RS hubs laced to alloy Spanish rims, CB750 front brake disc, machined sprocket mount and spacers, new Avon Roadrider tyres. I paid £2100, which I thought was good considering all the time and effort put into this bike. Alison loves it, and hence her Enfield is up for sale.

Don't know Michael. The bike was built by two brothers in Newry who did it as a winter project a couple of years ago. I actually went to see a ropey xbr one of them had for sale, and then this turned up. If you look on Gumtree Belfast, Sean has a real tricked up Yamaha SZR 690 for sale at the minute, which they built up.

Don't even go there, as we say here, 'shed knock my pan in!' rather than part with that bike  :D

Oh man now that's why I like thumpers! Just wish I was clever enough to create something like it.
