Cheap FT500?
« on: April 26, 2015, 02:56:18 PM »
If honestly described, could be worth a trip for someone?

I really have 't time and space. But since I recently bought a USA one no UK reg and not running, for MORE than this, I'm feeling a bit awkward!

Yes, there was the wee Trail 50, or the Tour 50. Shot up in value, selling for over £1500  these days   :-\

I can't cope any longer. How much was the FT, and how much was your one? I had an open offer of one for years for £400. But I never got round to it. Then one day I called in, thinking, let's do the deal. Ugh ugh! Bought and cafed by someone last year. Usual story, used to be worth nothing, now collectable  :-\

Mine was 799, I think. This one was... I can't remember, WAS very cheap, maybe 400? Anyway, all academic now.

Like everything else, ?I suppose they're worth what one person will pay. For an FT, that person can think fragile Honda cul-de-sac, no kickstart, thank goodness they got onto XBR/Dominator soon; or can think, quirky, rare as hen's teeth, they NEVER come up for sale, and in my case an import so relatively rust free.

Actually, my buying process was a bit of the latter, didn't really want nonrunner/unknown quantity, so thought if I put start bid, I'd not get it, but at same time feel ok about that because I tried. However, no-one bid against me!! It does look v pretty though, and it turned out to have paperwork hidden in toolkit, which seller DK Bikes didn't realise. When my crazy job sorts itself out, I expect I'll finally look at it and see if I was an idiot or not...I've never even hooked it up to a battery.

Yea, but at least you got it  :) I've bought a few bikes over the last while, not cause I need them, but cause of  rediculously cheap price and poor condition. Some will have to wait a considerable time before I get to sort them out  :-\ Thankfully I have absolutely no room left to store anymore  :-\
