Right....  SWMBO has decreed that we are to visit Wales, 2nd week in September...
I'm fine with that... she has a couple of places to visit (exhibitions of quilting I believe) .. and we have agreed we'd like to spend a bit of time on the Gower peninsular...
we will be going to Llanidloes and Lampeter in addition to Gower... we're thinking of doing B&B , 2 nights in each area...
So.... you'll be amazed to know that quilting isn't my thing... so i'll be looking for something to do whilst in the Lampeter and Llanidoes areas... (please do not include lap dancing clubs and the like in your suggestions... it says here..) also if you know of any good B&B's in the localities that'd be a bonus...
I'm not averse to taking my mountain bike with me and getting a couple of rides in...  apparently you have some hills over that way??

I already have plans for that weekend otherwise I would offer to show you round Afan

If into a walk try Hafod near Devils Bridge.

If into big engines try the Museum of Internal Fire.

Obviously you already know about the Quilt museum in Lampeter.

Aberaeron is worth a stroll, as is New Quay and Cwmtydu.

If into local museums I reckon Aberystwyth has one of the best in the country.  Seriously.

Lots of mountain biking in the Brechfa or alternatively have a look at Nant yr Arian - closer to Devils Bridge.

Have fun.

If you are up that way then Nant yr Arian is definately worth a look

Just been told that it is wise to phone ahead to Internal Fire and make sure they are open - unless August they don't open every day.  Some days are also better than others and a few times a year they get all the big stuff running - including the gas turbine.  Well worth seeing and hearing.

They also have some very big singles indeed.

Lots of semi diesels, bit like Guzzis and Harleys  ::)

Did I / We get lucky or what!!... great weather all week... fantastic scenery, top notch B&B's, SWMBO got to see and do everything she wanted, I got to the Museum of internal fire... and that was terrific !.  last 2 days on the Gower... and last night, having heard that the last night of the proms was being celebrated at 'proms in the park' in Swansea... (singleton park) we thought we might just catch the last half.. maybe park up a have a free peek.... got there, into the parking area.... walked down to the entrance and ticket office... thought we might get a reduced price for just the second half... no chance... £14 each.... so we were just deciding to watch from the railings when this guy and his daughter came out... and said...'hey... I have a couple of complementary tickets if you want them...WHAT A HERO!!!.... wouldn't take any money... so in we went.... great show.... all of a sudden I love the Welsh!!
Gower was great!... If you ever get to Oxwich bay.. there is a restaurant there by the name of 'the coalhouse'... expensive... but absolutely top notch ... real quality.. impress your beloved...
AND... Norwich beat Cardiff yesterday!.... I'm no footie fan, but its a result....

thanks for the info guys,.... appreciated...
