Taylor 600
« on: August 02, 2014, 06:17:09 AM »
I thought I heard that the Taylor 600, carbon fibre chassis, Telelever style front end, is to race in the moto 2 race at silverstone. Dunno if I misheard this but, if it's true, pretty exciting news.

Ok it's not a thumper but, hey, we're all motorcyclists any ways up.

Not doing so well in free practice, with Jeremy McWilliams riding it. And he knows how to ride a bike!

He was saying that they need to adjust the trail. That the bike was not turning easily enough.

Fingers crossed they get it to a less embarrassing lap time for race day.

Nope. Dire, in fact.

Is it a case of "the first instance of superior principle is invariably defeated by the developed example of established practice" ?

Or is it just an unnecessary solution to an out of date problem?

Regarding the FFE, maybe the Fior/hossack principle has a bit more going for it?

I'm surprised they didn't park it on race day, not good to see a rider of Jezzer's quality being lapped.  Maybe they should try it with a conventional fork?  it did look rather high at the front.

Maybe the front looks high because I believe the cooling airflow is ducted through the centre of the bike, with the radiator under the seat. I recall reading that the bike has two suspension units instead of one Central one, to allow the air to pass through?
