howdy
« on: July 31, 2014, 04:49:30 PM »
Howdo all, new to the forum, i currently have a c15 and a gn250 but have had many singles in the past, my first bike on the road was in 1972 and was a Velocette mac, also had 441 bsa and a Sanglas (superb bike) and loads of others i have forgotten,  i am looking for something else now that will be similar to my GN but a bit quicker, i have considered gearing it up with a 17/39t set up ,  problem is i must now have electric start, i can manage the c15 ok but anything bigger could be an issue,   anyway, time to start reading through old posts and searching for answers to gn questions,   cheers folks,

XBR500?They have kick and electric start, are still relatively cheap to buy and run,are not too heavy and performance as standard is good but can be tuned if you want more.

Hi spooky,
If you like the gn why not just go for it,s bigger bro the gn400 (not sure if they have lecci start tho)  or possibly a honda 250rs. Cracking little bikes and the deluxe version has the lecci start motor. Keep us posted.  Regards Michael

I can endorse Moto 63's enthusiasm for the RS250.Great lightweight little bikes and  yes they come in kickstart and leccy start versions.Even better would be an RS with a 500 cc leccy and kickstart engine. They pop up from time to time but the FT500 engine has issues with the starter and the XL is I think kickstart only? The XBR is dry sump so not an easy conversion.I also own an Enfield Bullet 500 EFI which in my opinion are very underrated bikes although the build quality is a bit patchy. They are quite large physically but can be tuned via Hitchcocks and others but it's not cheap!

Hi

I have an MZ Skorpion Sport and really like it. Great for B road scratching, doesn't weigh much and is quite small in stature. Prices are variable, mine was dirt cheap and I have seen others go for £1800 which is way too high for one of these. £1000 should get you a nice example if you keep your eye on ebay and haggle maybe even less.

Skorpion - all models have a low seat height.  It must have as I'm 5' 8" with a 28" inside leg and it fits just fine.
