I accept that I have not posted in some time. However, I do visit and  I have no intention of joining farce book. I am aware of  the type of drivel that ends up on there.

Sorry but will not be joining any site based on face book.

There has been a mixed response to this, but little in the way of constructive suggestions on how things could be improved and the site made more accessible. I am working on installing a Facebook/Forum plugin but I have no idea on how well it work. Other than that I am open to ideas.

Generally when a FB page is launched, the web site (or forum) records a large loss of connections.

However I find a forum more comfortable and easier when it comes to search for a past post and to avoid posts you're not interested in.

The list presentation of FB is not very practical, but FB is the place to be. I do prefer the forum style.

I'm not very keen on web marketing to enhance the hits and members participation but it suits me like that. Perhaps you could ask members to realize tutorials when they fix/mend something on their bike ?

To further add to the thoughts on this page, I thought that I would add a link to a blog that I follow from an Australian motorcycle enthusiast. It would appear that a similar falter in 'Forums' has been noted over there and that having a 'Pussbook' link to the Forum has lifted the Forum traffic.

Link: Phil_Hall's_Motorcycling_blog

Enjoy Phil's blog as well.

My regards, Bill.

Puss book?

Can't see it getting through the formidable censorship on this site.

Aye Propeller,

Colloquial expression and my apologies for appalling spelling!  ::)

pus. Scottish East Coast, Edinburgh and Dundee, means face in a derogatory sense.   :o

Tis a great shame, I have enjoyed this site since the very early days, I have no intention of being involved with Facebook, so when this site goes I will sadly go with it.......

I'm with Furry, Jethro, Trevor, Mark, Rob and all the others that don't like change for the sake of change....long live the TC forum....

The site is paid for by the ads at the top of the page, if no-one uses the forum then traffic through the site drops and the money from advertising drops.
I will try and find cheaper hosting a some point.

So in summary Use it or Lose it

Its is time for a change, the site activity has dropped to next to nothing so clearly something needs to be done to keep a community of Thumper owners together. In an attempt to address this I have created a Facebook group which can be found HERE
Facebook provides a much easier way to interact with others, its easier to posts pictures from phones or your PC and you can opt into email notifications. Messages from all your groups are all centralised in one place.

I would encourage you to sign up for the group.

Same here, don't have a facebook account and don't want one. Joined once, bombarded by people wanting to be my friend who I don't know, I am sure I am not that famous!

I'm another one TRYING to resist the lure of FB. I know my potential to be addicted to it, and never DO anything. However, it maybe can't be ignored.

Can I take this chance to say thanks to all on here so far...I only rarely post, but I regularly pop in for. Wee read, same as With NTV and CX non-thumper forums.

Be nice if they an both run, as suggested. However, I appreciate it's a free service, so...

Cheers

I hang my head in shame due to my paucity of posted drivel on this forum. Sorry.

I'm here now, and I want to use this site more. I use fartbook but grow wearisome of some of its aspects, notably it's spying/logging policy.

Still riding my WildeBeast (MT-03) and lusting after TV weather girls so not much has changed in my life as of late.

However, I use an iPad thing sometimes now and that keeps me logged into this site so my input should rise  ;D
