Which one does it for you?
« on: June 06, 2013, 08:33:10 AM »
Which racing thumper do you think is the best looking?

I've always gone for the cobby good looks of the 7R and G50, but the red fininsh of the 500 is my favourite:

But let's not forget the lightweights, here's a lovely Motobi: (yes there is a bike in this picture)

What Andy said  ;D though the Motobi has an ugly fairing imho.

Now this does look good to me:

In love with the red unfaired (!) G50 for ever.

I love the Manx to, but I do prefer the G50. Sort of David vs Goliath story.

I love the Manx too...

Yeah, it seems impossible not to love the Manx, but for the sake of argument I just accepted that the Norton is magnificent and ignored it for now.

Wouldn't it be lovely if Furry came along and posted that lovely picture of me on his Manx at Stafford. I don;t think I've ever looked happier or more at home (and that includes my two wedding days and the births of my three children)  ;D

It's one of the TT Zero bikes from a couple of years ago, they are/were allowed more sensible fairings than "conventional" racing bikes.  8)

Thanks for posting those.

I'm glad I've lost some weight since then  ;)

In fact it was a picture from the Uttoxeter show around that time that really prompted me to address my portliness. So glad I did, I may never be svelte, but these days I'm fit, thinner and much much happier. In fact I didn't realise how much being a porker affected my mood until I sorted it out.

It's easier on the fork seals and shocks too  :D

TC slimmer of the year has to be Simon M though, he's lost tons of weight and all through walking.

Thanls for posting those.

Sorry they are a bit small, I was looking at the forum on the boat here in Eire (Kilmore Quay) on the way up to Scotland and the bandwidth is a bit small in the marina, only meant for weather files (gribs) and forecasts so could not upload to the 500k max of the forum. Hope this weather holds, Arklow tomorrow at 6am, then Greystones the day after, it's easier on the bike.

You in range of Manx radio?  ;)

Mind you it's streamed on the 'net these days.

A real favourite of mine is the Macintyre Matchless, but I can't find a piccy that does it justice  :(

And for a long time I thought this was the best thumper racer ever (bike and rider), John Cronshaw's hugely successful Gold Star racer:

And let's not forget the dirt racers:
