Well...I didnt make the short list so I must be one of "The Tosspots"  :-[

Where this argument falls down is in the fact that I can't put a face to the user name 'JJ'

Am I being completely thick or have I been missing from the forum for too long?

Ah #1, I remember the Bill Swallow event well.....we were in the holding area and told to follow the marshal wearing the hiviz, they opened the gates and he took off on his Velocette, so we all took off after him, trying to catch him, you on your XBR and me on the SR500....great fun.
 Dave
ps. I think health & safety have put a stop to events like that, was that the time when Jethro borrowed a child for ballast in his D/A sidecar?
 Dave.

It's Ian, the SRX's are a bit of a giveaway.
As a general comment you account name and display name can be different, so in Ians case he can log in using 'JJ' but the display name could be 'Ian SRX'

He's the little guy that kept on about his SRX on the Stafford stand last year, drank all the coffee, ate all the food and ripped me off for £10 for an immaculate set of Yamaha clocks. ;D

I did click on the avatar, but it just came up saying that I don't have access to member's info (or something along those lines). My eyes are no good for little piccies any more  ;)

Im sorry for causing a bit of a stir...I will rename myself to make it obvious from now on....as for pristine every year...that is something to live up to. Im afraid I havent really done much over the last winter but I will probably get rid of the monoeshock now and have a good long think.

Thanks Graham :)

... One day away from the forum and the threads just grow & grow!!

As soon as I read "Boyd" and "trampoline" I instantly laughed out loud.  ;D ;D In 48 years of existance, that has got to rate as the funniest thing I ever saw, with Jethro's face plant from the very same trampoline a close second.  ;D ;D

Yep, without doubt, the club has provided some top giggles. ;)

I didn't see Jethro's face plant but I did see Gareth missing the trampoline on his way back down. The resulting thud was pretty nasty and he wasn't able to do the following day's rideout.

To be fair, I could have carried on listing stuff for hours, but that's just being boring, it's enough to say that it's been a hoot ;)

The French rideout - the slowest tour of Normandy since 1944

Hahaha!!  However, gents, let us not use the "boyd on a trampoline" story to gloss over the "boyd in a ditch" image!!  I think there are photos of that somewhere...  Yes Boyd, you WERE young and foolish...

Eh? I didn't put either of you in the tosspot bin, I didn't name anyone so why have you jumped to that conclusion?

Bit of a martyr syndrome?   ;):

 ;) ;) ;) ;)

In actual fact I was thinking of people like the certain older committee member who came and went in a cloud of indignant bluster and bollocks. And a few short-lived members who expected the club to conform to their view of the world and who nagged my ears off behind the scenes. I didn't name anyone because that's just plain rude, even though I doubt that any of them are still lurking on the forum.

So don't jump to mistaken conclusions.
