Hello Bill,
Yes, I am very well thanks. Life seems quite good just now, tho the lack of sleep over the last couple of weeks due to sprog and wife illness has been doing my nut in a bit. Thus my exodus to Glasgow for a weekend!
No, the Scimitar is all good. Its not getting a lot of use at present, but to be honest I can't fault it. The last "big" jobs were:
PAS rack rebuild (with new lines)
Caliper rebuild, closely and quite annoyingly immediately followed by
Brake master cylinder replacement.
Prior to that was replacement of all hoses by silicone numbers about a year ago. Mmmm! Fit & forget? I hope so. None of which actually caused any sort of breakdown, just warranted attention and fluids! Which I wasn't prepared to put up with!
No William, the Reliant appears to be ok. It was the stainless steel wunder-car which was getting my love.
Over the last 18 months:
Fuel pump, lines, and associated in-tank gubbins (all knackered after 30 years)
Front springs (saggy and soft)
Front shocks (Damping?? No sir, not us! We are Girlings! And we are now 30 years old too!)
Front anti roll bar bushes (shot!!)
Door strut repair (had been trying to climb out the fibreglass underbody)
4x calipers rebuilt and painted (Cortina up front, Jag at the back)
4x stainless brake flexi's fitted
New brake master (Saab 99 part!)
Fog light for MOT
Slowly-slowly-catchy-monkey. MOT next month I hope, then I will bring it south, and lay up the scimitar for a while.... Well, thats the plan anyway! How are your thongs going? Duc??
Cheers
