It was only a couple of years ago that I ran out of the huge store of cable ties I'd amassed when I worked in the cycle trade. All bicycles tend to be packed with handlebars and wheels cable-tied to the frame. If you cut 'em right, you get a spare long cable tie for free.
Since then I have using whatever came to hand, but by choice it's black all the way for me... they still look good after a few years, whereas the white 'uns look tatty.
