Strange how things turn out

I rode Silverfox's CB250 RS back from Cowbridge Common cafe this morning (the cafe is a biker meeting place on sundays). It was really enjoyable and the shocking fact is that it was the first thumper I'd ridden properly for nearly two years* 

How did that happen?

Time is a strange thing, when I was booking the R80 I rode in the IoM last week I realised that it is around 20 years since I last rode a boxer twin 
Equally, when I jumped on my Honda to test ride it a few weeks back it was probably approaching ten years since I'd ridden a big four... still immediately felt like I'd never stopped riding them though 

Still awaiting riding a bike on a warm day to see if it's the same as I remember mind you!!

Snow drifts gone from the Cronk y Voddy then? How many to a sleeping bag to keep warm?

Hope all is well, but I'm not sure about a 'Blackbird', plenty of poke but an antithesis to a slim hipped single, with a lusty thump!

Aye Bill, still 6'plus snow walls but the roads themselves were fine. Seeing the place properly gives you a whole new level of respect for the riders, scary!
Blackbird was the right bike at the right time at the right price, it's a car with two wheels, just a (very very) fast car lol :-)
That said, although I can feel the weight it handles very nicely, give me some dry twisties and she'll lean! B-)

Nb, no sleeping bags required this time, we were in nice comfy cottages at Groudle Glen :-)

Those cottages have been there a wee while, all nice and sparkly when I went across in '76. Worth the dosh?

Lol, ok Bill, "car" is maybe a bit unkind, but I wanted a transport first and a bike second this time, if that makes any sense?!? It's too fast for almost anyone if you tweak her tail, but trundles along comfortably at sensible velocities if a little common sense is appled :-)

The cottages are still nice and clean and comfortable. There was a group of us spread across three of them so good value for us. Free use of the wee tourist railway for anyone in the cottages as well ;-)

Sleet?! Blimey, glad to say the roads are clear here at my mothers near Edinburgh and temp seemed to be above freezing. Don't really want to try riding the beastie on sleety/snowy roads!!
Will have to have a look for the IoM snow pics, was certainly not what we expected when we booked it months ago!
