Bike cleaning

Hi all
Last time I was in my local chippy,at the end of the day,I watched him cleaning the stainless steel with a bit of paper and a splash of vinegar. He tells me that he cleans all the surfaces with it.Apart from  now, having a shiny kitchen it does the SRX pretty well.Stainless steel.chrome, paintwork, the lot.Probably not the thing if courting.A good degreaser, antibacterial and perks up the appetite.
with the usual, try a small surface first caution,I would recommend it.How strange is that?
