CADDINGTON BIKE NIGHT
« on: July 03, 2012, 08:45:26 PM »
Anybody attend?
I went along for a ride out and went via Luton, Aylesbury & Bicester and back via Buckingham and Milton K. and back to Hitchin. Round trip of 130 miles.
The event itself was awe inspiring with bikes from wall to wall and all the way down every side street and parked in residents gardens in fact just about all available parking space taken with bikes. Cars were keeped out of the village and were parked all the way down the approach roads for miles.
Chatted to a few people who had been before and said although there wasn't as many bikes it is still a fantastic event. The Old Bill were there presenting a Ride Safe awareness and handing out a few freebies. Never saw one bike stopped for checks in the village or surrounds, well everyone was well behaved, honest!
Didn't see one XBR or I must have blinked and only one DBD 34 Gold Star [dont know what was wrong it wasn't going to rain!!!!!!] , plenty of Harley Hogs and Rat bikes, trick bikes, Tritons even little 50's and scooters they were all welcome..
The villagers themselves all come out and lend a hand and the school and village hall having a part to play from Tombola to Tea and a Bun as it was organised by them.
To sum it up a well organised and happy gathering of bikes and villagers, see it does work!
Will go again next year for sure.
