Not sure where to fit this in..
« on: June 21, 2012, 12:08:21 PM »
Anyway, here goes, I just joined and wanted to introduce myself,.., well hello everyone, i hope everyone is good and having a great week.

Me, not a lot to report other than, into my Hydraulics, and most things mechanical and fibre glass too. I make parts out of fibre glass. I also dabble with plastics of different types and making replica parts for bits and pieces. I have renectly sold off my last bike after having four of them for a while. So will be looking at replacing it with something a little different.

I like the looks of the Honda XBR, or the Yamaha szr660 i think it is.. I have been used to multi cyclinders but am not in a big rush to go fast or loose my license...

Hi there and welcome to "The Madhouse" and other names the Thumperclub goes as. Im sure if you read through past topics you will find the answer(s) you want or even ask ..you`ll be surprised at the depth of knowledge here re: Single cylinder 4stroke bikes, also a variety of not so closely related topics (Land Rovers and variants thereof, Camping stoves, weather girls, beer, (possibly wine women and song but the songs dont play much of a part) Oooops I digress....

I hope you get sorted whichever bike  you choose (although the SZR are not so common, but still a lovely handling bike)

Regards

Ian :)

I will say only two words on the subject of weather girls and they are "Wendy Hurrell"
http://www.wendyhurrell.com/ for more information. I am in no way connected with Wendy  :'( and so my comments are purely hormonal.

And I thought you started this topic...

Anyhow... welcome. If you like the SRZ and can't find one, have a look around for a MuZ Skorpion.

Hint for success on this site,   go to your shed, find a 4oz (6 oz if you have German or Scots heritage) and give yourself a smart tap on the forehead. This manouvre will also make it easier to understand this site's idiosincracies and as a bonus sidecar dynamics.... refer to GC. Perfect example

Hi hrc1966 and welcome to the Thumper club.  Ignore that lot above, they've obviously been swapping their various medications again!!

You'll find plenty of folks here who can help and advise with XBR related stuff ( and SRX), the SZR is a rarer beasty, but a very nice bike if you can find a good'un. We occasionally get together in a muddy field for a pint or several and a blast around the twisties ( not at the same time!) and as you have seen the forum is pretty diverse and lively.

Riding singles is certainly very different to riding multi's but many fall for their simple charms ...and the fact they're cheap to run and it's fun worrying the big bikes in the twisties.

Along with our love of all things single cylindered we also run a therapy group for the  more befuddled members of our little club where they can harmlessly ramble on about such subjects as the virtues of gas stoves over petrol stoves, Landrovers and how to fix them, who has the best TV weather girl, beer, and Jerusalem Artichokes amongst others.  A lot of us are called Steve which can get confusing several, are Welsh....and some are Australian and tell awful jokes ( Hi Kurt!)....and we have a Jethro.

..........Welcome to the madhouse! ;D
