Got back home at 1545 hrs bike now unpacked, washed down a bit and back in the garage, just under a 6 hours ride.
Good weekend and the ride home was dry, me and steve managed the cat and fiddle on the way back as a bonus.
I have managed to pull chest muscles on both sides and can't cough or sneeze properly. So I'm now in agony. Don't know where it came from it just appeared after I sneezed before I left the campsite.
Hope everyone got home safely and like last years promise I will not be doing it again next year??????

Had to follow Keiths W650 back slowly as it turned out he had the 'air filter 1/2 full of water' problem.

Thats what happens when you try to keep a dry a**e by putting your seat in your tent overnight !

Keep asking myself why I come to the Dragon to stand in a cold barn 1/2 full of bored bikers before getting an uncomfortable nights sleep on mud and spend the next week drying kit.

Is 55mph slowly? :P

Ok ok. I had a good time nice to meet the Thumper club, but I'm never drinking spirits again! I've only ever had the experience of not remember how i got to my bed once before, and now I'm married to that incident. I'm not used to spirits, I just like lots of beer :)

Completely wrecked my tent inside, ripped all the ground sheet and woke up to find my stuff sodden including my saddle I took in to keep dry. not the saddle as such t, but he sheepskin covering it. The W650 forum say carb icing with water in the filter housing is a major W fault I just made the problem worse. Well we learn by our mistakes.

Thanks to Mr Marshall for giving me an escort "slowly" home.

And the reason bikers do the Dragon is because it has to be done, I can now rip into my supposed hardened biker employees at work now who have never done the Dragon but insist on being all year bikers.

I arrived home at 3.30 on Sunday after a great ride back through Wales with my brother and his partner Liz. We took the coast road around to Porthmadog and the views out across the Menai Straits/Irish Sea were just beautiful. Who would have imagined that after the weather of Friday?

We made our usual stop at the Dolwen café near Llanidloes where we met up with Jethro, Julian, Viv and Tim. The owners of the caff always make us feel so welcome and the food is very good.

The rally itself was a hoot. After pitching tents we engaged in the usual routine of touring around looking at the mad stuff people ride there. By late afternoon the site looked very full indeed, which none of us expected.

Thanks to Bruce I had a marvellous bowl of beef stew for supper, washed down with a Cote de Rhone and followed by an hours kip before we all got ready to go to the barn for cocktails. Our fancy dress theme was unexpectedly popular and we spent the first hour or so having our pictures taken... I'm sure some will surface here soon. Despite all my promises to myself, I was still up and drinking with Simon Morgan at the very end of the evening, he's a bad influence that one.

The sound of rain on my tent woke me up occasionally in the night so you can imagine my surprise when I woke up to sunshine.

Great to see everyone there, including Martyn and Boyd who 'popped in' to Llanberis to see us. As usual I have no doubts about doing it again, if only because what esle would I be doing on the second weekend in February? Despite its hardships and annoyances, I still find it a great event.

Cheers
