Ooh Ooh! What a nice site! Thanks for posting the link. The first link I clicked on brought this up, what a beauty:



I had a sniff of a 1960 Holdsworth track bike recently but the owner went off, did his research and found out it was worth hundreds... not the £80 I offered him  ::)

As for the Brooks B17 (and B17 narrow) I wouldn't ride far on anything else these days. I know what I'm talking about, I once rode across Britain on a Selle Flite:

Lycra! this is old bikes so you'd be looking at Chamois inserts for your shorts and lanolin!!!....even worse! :o

Nothing broadens your perspective on life like the sight of 20 blokes shaving their legs and rubbing in oil prior to the start of a Time trial!! :o :o :o

LOL  :D I used to think it entirely natural to shave my legs... all us cyclists did it and we used to look down on hairy legged types. Every activity has its own little codes and foibles. I still think Schraeder valve tubes are not what 'serious' cyclists use... I can't explain or justify this but I still only fit Presta valve tubes  ::)

And of course oil and rubber really don't mix.  Got to use a water based lubricant haven't they Jethro !

A sure way of getting stuck somewhere with the means of pumping up a tyre but one that doesn't fit those wretched Presta valves.

I had my rims drilled out to take schraeders, as for you shaving you legs etc - I would remind you this is public forum

As for rubbing down with oil.....well I use Straight 50 myself !
