New bike (and sidecar)
« on: April 02, 2012, 09:21:05 PM »
By some convoluted haggling I have been given a bike and sidecar by my brother. This was Smudge's outift and by a quirk of fate I fitted the sidecar for him in February '06.

The outfit had been sold to a TCer already before Gareth got to hear of it and he was sorry to have missed out on it. However, the situation changed and he travelled up to Falkirk to collect it last weekend.

I am incredibly grateful to Gareth for giving me a chance to get mobile again on my own bike. It's been too long. And thank you to Smudge for thinking of us. Also a big sorry and thank you to the TCer who had to step aside, it must have been a wrench.

The bike is a non-runner at the moment and also seems to have suffered a little from being stored outdoors, but we have all the sizes of hammer and a garage full of parts, including a swing arm to replace the (very) rusty item currently fitted  ;)

No offence to Smudge, but the Yellow Scotchbrite tape and Sottich sticker have been removed already ;D

Cheers

Aye GC,

Look after that fairing, it came from an old SRX600, that was my first introduction to Japanese singles of capacity! Smudge, might have even passed the matching lowers on as well!

Smudge will now have room for the requisit trampoline!  ;)

My regards, Bill.

No lowers so far, I think they have been mislaid or buried. If it's a Powerbronze fairing then I my have lowers here already, I bought a set at a jumble years ago. I also have a complete Powerbronze fairing in the rafters of the garage (the single headlamp version).

I may sit down later today and work out how many XBRs have passed through my hands... but don't tell my wife!  ;)

Your own bike and sidecar!

You'll be going to the elefantentreffen next.

Well done,

Mark

Lol, well it was built to go to the Elefanten (which it successfully did  ;) )

No worries about the yellow Graham, I'm sure you will do good things with it  8) I *think* I may remember where the lowers ended up, if I'm right I'll find a way to get them sent down (though the sidecar mounts are right in the way of fitting them) if not, then sorry! Equally, if I come across any XBR bits then they'll come your way.

Not got a trampoline yet, but I have inherited a paddling pool lol, oh and the obligatory sleep deprivation!

I suspect "getting it up pronto" is what got Smudge into trouble in the first place :o
