Booked. 2 Adults with motorcycle-sidecar.  8)

Ferry Dunkerque – Dover, July 20, 12.01 hrs, 20 Euro, Norfolkline (DFDS)
Ferry Fishguard – Rosslare, July 23, 02.45 hrs, 102 Euro, Stena
Ferry Rosslare – Fishguard, August 3, 09.00 hrs, 102 Euro, Stena
Ferry Dover – Dunkerque, August 5, 12.00 hrs, 20 Euro, Norfolkline (DFDS)

Is it just me or are the ferries to Ireland just over the top.  ::) Over 5 times the amount I have to pay from Europe to England.  :o

Not really the right way to welcome tourists.......

Anyway, already payed, so no worries about it anymore.

Richard, you've finacially helped the Greeks now you are helping the Irish.

Nobody should have to pay to get in to England but it is worth paying to go to Ireland, it's all relevant.

You even have to pay to come into Wales at the Severn Bridge(except motorcycles) but not when crossing into England.

Calling any of our Dutch Cousins.... Would anyone be interested in bringing me some cigars over in their pannier to this rally? I would forward any costs beforehand via paypal to cover cost of cigars and time/trouble of fetching them for me.

Just tell me brand details and what kind of box and/or numbers.

Hi Richard, thank you. Not sure what brands you have over there? Just looking for a nice smooth cigar that wont make me loose my voice for the rest of the night. LOL As to how many, how many are you allowed to bring over? Money not really a problem but dont want you to get into trouble for being over the limit if there is one.

Just looking for a nice smooth cigar (...)

I will be travelling through NL, Belgium, France, the UK and Ireland. It´s all EU. So no worries.

Quote:
If your purchases are equivalent to or less than the quantities set out in the table below, they will usually be regarded as being for your personal use. If you exceed these quantities, you may have to demonstrate at Customs that the goods are for your personal use.

Alcohol and tobacco allowances for travellers to Ireland from EU
Goods   Maximum quantity allowed
Cigarettes 800
Cigarillos 400
Cigars 200
Smoking tobacco 1 kg
Spirits (whiskey, vodka, gin, etc.) 10 litres
Intermediate Products (e.g. sherry, port, etc., excluding sparkling wine) 20 litres
Wine (only 60 litres of sparkling wine allowed) 90 litres
Beer 110 litres

I´ll bring my own smoking tobacco. Not sure about the beverages.  :D If I have to demonstrate at Customs the personal (ab)use I won´t be able to ride, I think.  ::)

As for what to choose, well it´s your choice, not mine. Maybe  this or this will give you an idea. I´m not a “connaisseur”.

Maybe you can PM me, in order not to get too much off-topic…… (or maybe someone else needs something, but if I need a trailer I will ask some compensation for the ferries  ;))

Hi Tommy

Are you looking for matt, silk or gloss?  There seems to be a good choice available over here.

Well, I never! Tommy and Trevor in a tent with two cans of a banned substance. A lovely finish but it'll all end in tears.
