SRX600 Electric foot conversion
« on: December 31, 2011, 08:34:47 AM »
Hi - I,m new to the site - and just starting on a conversion to my trusty old SRX600 - I love the bike - but a replacement hip now means I cant (or dare not)  give her a kick! - especially as it was fitted with A BIG BORE HIGH COMPRESSION KIT A WHILE AGO. - (the bike not the hip)

I have sourced a good yr 2000 XT600e engine - with a loom and carbs - It all looks pretty straight forward - but am stuck with the oil tank relocation issue  - Has any one else done this conversion? and can offer some advice please  (I do have a tank from an SRZ - but that looks like it will foul the frame and the exhaust -

An oil tank and exhaust headers from a monoshock SRX will work, the monoshock headers are shaped to run down the right handside away from the tank.

The bike in teh picture is Ians which was a 400 electric start in a 400 twinshock frame, he will be able to offer more advice
